The prepositions in modern Chinese function words have no real meaning and their grammatical functions are more complex. In the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,it is found that, especially the same element near the synonymous of monosyllabic and disyllabic prepositions, which can not be accurately understood and discriminated by foreign students, often have errors such as mixed use and unclear meaning. This paper chooses two groups of paratactic prepositions and two groups of prepositions with "le" and "zhe" attached to them as the research content, and uses the research method of questionnaire to investigate the acquisition errors of such prepositions by some intermediate and advanced foreign students in Tongji University.According to the survey results, the types of errors are mainly the misuse of monosyllabic and disyllabic prepositions caused by semantic confusion and collocation objects, and the omission of monosyllabic prepositions caused by fixed formats, and the error of adding and wrong order. The reasons of these errors are from“learning” and “teaching”.In view of the errors in understanding and using these prepositions by some intermediate and advanced foreign students in Tongji University, this paper puts forward the following teaching suggestions: teachers should follow the teaching principles of prepositions;use the teaching materials reasonably;pay attention to the teaching principles of simplification of prepositions;adopt the methods of comparison, guide students to distinguish;spiral recurrence, bringing new with old;cultivate students' independent learning. At last, this paper designs a teaching case according to the teaching suggestions,in order to make some contribution to the acquisition of these kinds of prepositions.
