Liang's strong interest in calligraphy, together with his large collection of Steles and rubbings, made a great contribution to the calligraphy study in the late Qing Dynasty. In this paper,Liang's "beitieba" as the main research object, combined with the social environment of his time, the environment of the style of writing, with Liang's multiple identities as a reference point, analyzes the theory of calligraphy and the method of discussing calligraphy. The purpose of this paper is to sort out beitieba and to embody Liang's thoughts and methods of calligraphy.First of all, this paper explains the emergence of beitieba by connecting the background of the times and Liang's personal experience.Taking Liang's personal collection preferences as a clue, this paper observes the calligraphy trend of thought under the turbulent society, and probes into the cause and process of the emergence of beitieba by referring to each other.Secondly, the author deeply excavates and expounds the calligraphy thoughts embodied in beitieba.By analyzing Liang's inscriptions and postscripts on many Wei steles, this paper explores his establishment of "Wei stele style thought".For the contradictory attitude of Liang's book division in the north and the south, this paper puts forward the view that Liang's book learning thought is not solidified, but changes dynamically with time. This paper explores the essence from the appearance, and finds out the reasons for the establishment and change of thoughts,so as to find that Liang intended to set up a new set of"I-oriented" calligraphy thoughts and aesthetic standards in beitieba.Thirdly,it analyzes the book theory methods which are supported by the above thoughts. No matter in the way of comparing calligraphy with literature or in the way of discussing calligraphy with science,Liang's view of calligraphy from the perspective of connection and high dimension is reflected.Through time correspondence, this paper finds that these ways of governance coincide with the Western way of governance advocated by Liang in this period. Finally, the article discusses the influence of beitieba on later generations in two parts. The first part is about the relationship between beitieba and another book theory work of Liang's,the book study guide. The two works seem to be quite different from each other in terms of form and genre, but there are many internal connections and interlinked reasons. The second part is about the realistic influence of beitieba on the study of calligraphy in the future. It shows that the emergence of beitieba has an indispensable innovative inspiration for the development of calligraphy in the future. From the theoretical point of view, the study of beitieba can not only broaden the current research field of Liang's calligraphy thoughts, but also help to improve and deepen the connotation of Liang's calligraphy thoughts,as well as enrich the overall cognition of Liang's ideological system including politics and literature and other times. From the practical point of view, from the"beitieba" as the starting point, the analysis of the critical turning point of the history of calligraphy will help us to grasp the direction of the future development of calligraphy more rationally.
