With the modernization of rural economy, its social structure has undergone profound changes.Under the background of accelerating urbanization, problems such as cultural fault, lack of traditional culture, and insufficient role of social morality and public opinion began to appear in rural governance, resulting in low participation of villagers and failure of traditional self-government and rule of virtue. As an important part of traditional culture, local chronicles record local customs, historical sites and so on everywhere, and the local chronicles themselves have the main functions of keeping history, providing resources and educating people.Local chronicle work are the main bodies participating in rural governance. However, there are many problems in the participation of local chronicle work in rural governance at the present stage. For example,as a traditional paper medium, local chronicles have a long formation period, narrow dissemination scope, single publicity method and low integration with rural governance. The construction of village history museum is inexperienced, homogeneous and not unique, which is gradually vacant and difficult to play its role.In addition, the local chronicle work organization is not an economic functional department, and it is often neglected in cooperating with other departments to govern villages. It is separated from this system and cannot get better development. It is difficult to really participate in rural governance. These problems are all obstacles that make it difficult for local chronicle work to play a role in rural governance.Under the new era background,we need to overcome these obstacles, find ways and means for local chronicle work to participate in rural governance, and cooperate with various forces to achieve the results of good governance in rural areas. However, after searching for relevant materials,it is found that there is little research on the participation of local chronicle work in rural governance at this stage. Most of the obtained documents focus on the compilation and revision of rural local chronicles, which is difficult to provide theoretical support for practice. In this regard, based on the theory of collaborative governance, this paper analyzes the current situation of local chronicle work's participation in rural governance through literature research, field research, case analysis and other research methods. From the perspective of history and reality, this paper conducts indepth research on the participation of local chronicle work in rural governance to form updated research results,so as to achieve the effect of guiding local chronicle work's participation in rural governance practice.First of all, through conceptual and theoretical research, find out the agreement pointbetween local chronicle work and rural governance, and put forward the theoretical basis and significance of local chronicle work participating in rural governance. Then, taking Ningyang County as an example,it points out that the local chronicle work participates in the practice of rural governance and shows the positive significance of promoting the rural cultural and historical construction with the local chronicle culture. Finally,it summarizes the existing problems and reasons when local chronicles participate in rural governance, and proposes to carry forward traditional rural culture, promote grass-roots democracy, and finally let rural governance move towards "good governance" by promoting the compilation and revision of local chronicles, improving the ability of local chronicles and related institutions to cooperate in governance, exploring new modes of local chronicles participating in rural governance through village history halls, and promoting the integration of local chronicles and industries through innovative cooperative governance methods.
