Ink paintings and woodcuts grown in the same cultural and artistic background have many similarities in both visual effects and creative materials.Woodblock prints were originally made to imitate Chinese paintings,and they are replicative in nature.It is because of this replicability that woodblock and ink painting have a strange relationship.Ink painting has a profound influence on woodcut.Because of the similarities and differences between the two,the author makes a comparative study of them in order to better grasp the development law of the two,and then consciously draw nourishment from the ink language of ink painting to enrich the knife method of woodcut.This paper mainly analysis from the following points:by combing the Chinese traditional wood engraving and historical origin and development of ink painting,ink painting on the composition and form,layout for the influence of wood engraving,the creation that medium material used:paper,ink,pens and sculpting knife,compare to discusses the relationship between ink painting and Chinese traditional wood engraving.The author focuses on the Angle of woodcut knife method and ink painting brush method to study,and combined with their own creative practice,thinking about the differences of aesthetic taste between the knife and pen,which leads to the unique artistic charm of Chinese woodcut.Although in the early Chinese traditional woodcuts used boxing knives to imitate the ink and ink of ink paintings,with the gradual development of the western style,Mr.Lu xun introduced the western woodcuts into China,and set off a new movement of woodcuts in China,which made Chinese woodcuts look brand-new in terms of tools,cutting methods and the concept of the creator.After that,Mr.Li hua drew nourishment from the ink painting pen and created 14 kinds of woodcut knife methods,which played a significant role in promoting the innovation of engraving techniques.
