Wenshu Chen is the famous poet of Qian Long and Jia Qing Dynasty,he was born from a staff's family.He was appreciated by Ruan Yuan for<Tuanshan Poem>,and then,he became Ruan's staff.Chen passed the Geng Shen's election exam of Jia Qing Dynasty,and then started his political business.Subsequently,Chen went northward to the capital,attended the Spring exam three times and failed.He then took office at Anhui,Jiangsu,Zhejiang and Shanghai for twenty years,opened up waterways and built ancestral temples at many places.Chen always thought for his people and had many political success,but he never got a promotion.After his son Chen Peizhi's death,Chen Wenshu had resigned,and took his family lived at Wumen.At his old age,because of the destitution of his family,Chen has no choice but went back to work,he went northward to the capital again,and then took a work at Anhui.Finally,Chen died at Anhui from the effects of his overworkWenshu Chen had arrived many places and made a lot of friends.When he was young,he had been appreciated and taken up by many predecessors for his literary and political talents.And then Chen got many help from his friends at workplace,his friends gave a lot of applications and encouragements.At his old age,Chen also took up many inferiors.The'Seven Junior's poetic circles' was established by Chen's and his son Peizhi's promotion,they were famous at the area of Wuzhong at Jia Qing and Dao Guang Dynasty.Chen's thought of literary had been changed when he communicated with his friends.Wenshu Chen had many writing works over his life,he had published at least one hundred books,including his poems and essays over ten thousand,and the series of<Yidaotang Collection Edition>is the primary part.Chen wrote and published at the same time,he spent almost twenty years to finished the series of<Yidaotang Collection Edition>,it records a majority of Chen's works,and his other books'writings are also included in<Yindaotang Collection Edition>.After then Chen had taken an oath that he will never write any work,but because of others' persuasion,he edited his works again and published them at the name of 'Yidaotang',as<Jiehou poem>.By listing and arranging his books and works,can study his books' source and dissemination of version,and then can infer that Chen's books were almost published from his own publisher.Wenshu Chen followed Yuan Mei publicly and recruited female students widely,his female students named‘Bicheng Xianguan female student'.They are a important group in Chinese female history,and they made a huge contribution for Chinese female literature's development.But the group is also the biggest reason that Chen is disputed in the literary history.Chen made seals called 'Bicheng Female Student' for his female students,led his female students to building Xihu three ladies' tomb and building Lan'in House,and indited poems to communicate.He also collected his female students' excellent poems,published them as<Bicheng Xianguan Female Students' poem>.But his female students' poems are intermingled good and bad,and their poems' style are much different,they could not arrived a high literary levelWenshu Chen's action to recruit female students was not only because of his following of Yuan Mei,but also because of his truly admiration to females.His different view of females was a important factor affecting his poem's theme and style,his poetry anthology<Xiling Guiyong Poem>is even the collected works that he praise females at past and present.There are many works to describing and admiring females in Chen's poems.He admired them not only for their beautiful appearance,but also for their exalted quality and outstanding talent.In Chen's eyes,female's talent of literary are not defeated by males,even that their surpass males in some tensions.His thought is very rare at the feudal society which always respect males.Wenshu Chen's poems' style changed time after time in his life.He studied writing poem from Wu Weiye when he was young,his poem is resplendent and gorgeous.Then because his friend Xiao Lun's influence,Chen begin to pursue revealing and satirizing actualities,his poems changed to simple and honest.After Xiao's death,Chen got more life experiences,his poems were more similar to Li Bai and Du Fu,got more depressed and broad-minded.However,Chen's poems' style not only influenced by his life experiences Chen was divided to the 'Xingling' party because he had followed Yuan Mei,but his some views about poems are much different from 'Xingling' party.Because affeced by his family and Xiao Lun,and he always stayed at officialdom,Chen had to keep the same thought with official and mainly ideology,his views of poems much influenced by textual criticism.Besides,Chen connected with many bonze and monks,and he indulged in Buddhism and Taoism,Buddhism's and Taoism's ideology can be found all over his works.
