With the continuous improvement of China's international status and the cooperation of The Belt and Road with other countries continually going deep,more and more people begin to learn Chinese and come to study in China,many of whom are from Southeast Asian countries.China and Southeast Asian countries have far-reaching origins and close contacts in history.In the 19th century,there was a large wave of "going to Southeast Asia" immigrants.Many people have settled down in Southeast Asia since then,and have taken root.Therefore,many Southeast Asian students studying in China are also ethnic Chinese.Motivation is an important emotional factor in second language acquisition,which has a great influence on Chinese learning.This study mainly adopts questionnaire and interview methods.The purpose of this study is to deeply investigate the factors that influence the formation of Chinese learning motivation of ethnic Chinese students from Southeast Asia,and to classify these factors to investigate and analyze the reasons behind these factors.At the same time,the paper puts forward the relevant strategies to stimulate their Chinese learning motivation,hoping to promote the motivation of Southeast Asian ethnic Chinese,so as to improve the learning interest and enthusiasm of Southeast Asian Chinese overseas students.In view of the research objectives of this study,this paper investigates 30 ethnic Chinese students from Southeast Asia from various universities,and summarizes the factors that affect their Chinese learning motivation into self-interest factors,future development factors,external factors and cultural identity factors;and uses SPSS software to analyze the questionnaire data,and obtains the conclusion:(1)The order of the influence of the four factors on learning motivation is:future development factor,self-interest factor,external influence factor and cultural identity factor.(2)There is no significant effect on the difference of the internal individual factors of the respondents on the factors of influencing motivation.Is the motivation of Southeast Asian ethnic Chinese students unique?Based on this problem,it is necessary to study the influencing factors of the motivation of non-Chinese students as a reference system to compare and analyze them,so as to identify and highlight the influencing motivation of Southeast Asian ethnic Chinese students to learn Chinese.Through the comparison of the two and the specific analysis of each influencing factor,further conclusions are drawn:(1)There is no significant difference in the influence of Chinese identity on the self-interest factors and future development factors in Chinese learning motivation of overseas students.(2)There is significant difference in the influence of Chinese identity on external factors.(3)The influence of overseas students' Chinese identity on their Chinese learning motivation is not significant.Finally,on the basis of the survey results,the author puts forward four suggestions on how to stimulate the Chinese learning motivation of Southeast Asian Chinese students and improve their enthusiasm for learning Chinese:vigorously promoting the development of Chinese language teaching in Southeast Asian countries,increasing the targeted teaching content of ethnic Chinese students,providing more jobs for ethnic Chinese students,and increasing the spread of Chinese culture in Southeast Asian countries.It is hoped that these strategies can increase the influence of various factors on the learning motivation of Southeast Asian ethnic Chinese students,so as to stimulate their Chinese learning motivation.
