Dunhuang art occupies an important position in the art history of our country and even the world.It has had a profound influence on Chinese grotto art and is one of the sources of Chinese Buddhist art.Its development course of more than one thousand years has preserved a large number of murals and colored plastic works in different historical periods,which can be called ancient Chinese art textbooks.And once created Dunhuang art painting,clay sculpture and other art skills,as an intangible cultural heritage,still survived the world.Among them,Dunhuang color sculpture as the main body of Dunhuang grottoes art,there are a variety of statue types of branches.This paper focuses on the shadow sculpture in Dunhuang color sculpture this small branch,first of all,from the current research background,research status,research purpose and significance,research content,research methods and other aspects of the film sculpture: what is shadow sculpture? What is the development and current situation of shadow sculpture,how to study and why to study shadow sculpture? More comprehensive analysis of the source,development and research and development prospects.Secondly,based on the inheritance and production techniques of the film sculpture,the traditional process of restoring the film sculpture is refined and based on the decorative properties of the film sculpture A new type of shadow sculpture with various themes,techniques and decorative forms.In the subject matter,mainly refer to the famous ancient cultural and artistic themes in Gansu Province,such as the Wei and Jin painting brick unearthed in the Hexi area of Gansu Province,the painted pottery unearthed from the sites such as Dadi Bay and Majiayao,as well as the mountain rock paintings such as Montenegro and Ma Mane Mountain in the West of the Yellow River area.In terms of technology,modern turning technology is mostly used,mainly gypsum turning and resin turning,supplemented by surface texture making technology,which can produce "imitation material" new type of shadow sculpture with various material feelings such as stone carving,brick carving,wood carving and so on,so as to meet the needs of different decorative environment.It also combines copper carving technology and raw soil condensation technology to produce Shadow work with higher strength and durability.Finally,according to the decorative characteristics,decorative forms,process materials,assembly methods of the new type of shadow plastic,extending to the modern decoration industry to the real demand for shadow plastic decoration,how to combine the new type of shadow plastic with modern decoration has been explored.In this study,we have made a detailed analysis of such works as shadow-plastic Eaves tiles,door hairpin,hairpin head andpendant ornaments.In essence,these studies refer to the traditional production techniques of shadow sculpture,and on the premise of retaining some characteristics of traditional shadow sculpture,we try to develop a new type of shadow sculpture,which is used to decorate modern life,by combining the theme of ancient art with today's technology.As ancient The traditional craft of the generation,no matter how brilliant it used to be,if it did not adapt to the contemporary society and had no application value,it could only be a historical relic,or stagnated in the historical documents,or displayed in museums for future generations to hang.And Dunhuang film sculpture art is not so,it can bring practical value,perhaps far beyond our imagination.Therefore,how to make this ancient decorative art of shadow sculpture,which has practical significance and application value,make it radiate new vitality,is also a new path for us to inherit,protect and carry forward this intangible cultural heritage Dunhuang color sculpture production technology.
