Folkloristic Viewpiont For The Study Of Song Of Everlasting Regret

Juyi Bai says that "there is romance in my poem with everlasting regret",there the"everlasting regret" means the Song of Everlasting Regret.There are altogether one hundred and twenty sentences this poem,where the main content is based on the love story between the Emperor Ming of Tang and the Concubine Yang,but it also adopts the popular legends,corresponds to the important historic event,and it is composed together with the Legend of the Song of Everlasting Regret by Hong Chen.In this case,the study of the Song of Everlasting Regret mainly concentrates on the key topics in the academic field,with lots of topics emerged,for example the topic of lover,topic of criticism and exposure,dual topics,topic for the hidden of the truth,and topic for the sorrow of the time.Certainly,the Song of Everlasting Regret is among the top poems in Tang dynasty with beautiful words,special criticism and wonderful imaginary,which has a deep influence for the various literature works in later decades.The value of the Song of Everlasting Regret is not only in the field of arts,but also is extended to the many other research areas such as the history,sociology and folklore.In this thesis,we try to use the methods and viewpoints of connection(the elements of the matter and the matters themselves will influence,constrain and affect each other,this is called the viewpoints of connection;and to grasp the matter,to recognize and proceed the problems are called the methods of connection),that are based but beyond the study of the words itself,and try to start from the novel aspect of folklore to view the Song of Everlasting Regret,and hope to dig out the information with good value of folklore by put the poem to its original historic background and life styles,and find the value of the Song of Everlasting Regret for the reflection of multiple cultures.This thesis provides a view of the Song of Everlasting Regret from the folkloristic vision by the elements of folkloristic costume,folkloristic activities and Taoism.In the section of folkloristic costume,we studied the head ornaments such as Jin Bu Yao,Cui Qiao,Yu Sao Tou,Jin Chai,Jin Que and Hua Dian,the hair styles like Yun Bin and Hua Guan,the eyebrow ornaments like E Mei and Liu Mei,and the costume ornaments like Da Xiu and Xiao Xiu,by the crossover verification with the related historic literatures.In the section of folkloristic activities,we studied the emperor's banquet and the Da Bu for food and drinking,the Rainbow Skirt and Feathered Coat for music and dance,the spring trip,and hot spring bath in the poem by combination with related historic materials.In the meanwhile,we have paid special attention to the Taoist activities that are popular in the Song of Everlasting Regret,we studied the Taoist wonderland that are described as "air of mystery","exquisite pavilions and fine towers"and "many divine beauties with shapely figures dwelled",and the Taoist activities like the ascending and becoming an immortal and the spirit outgoing and controlling,through the combination with the deep Taoist culture in Tang dynasty and the Juyi Bai's bonding with Taoism.By comparing with the historic literatures and materials,it is verified that the elements related to costumes,activities and religion are realities in history,and we viewed the Song of Everlasting Regret with a folkloristic aspect to achieve a more integrated and complete knowledge.In this thesis,we learned and referred to the research method of "crossover verification by history and poems" that is from the famous historian Yinke Chen,and we compared the Song of Everlasting Regret with historic literatures and archeological materials,and combined the reality of art and the reality of history with an emphasis on the "historic poem" character of Juyi Bai and acknowledging the reality description of the Song of Everlasting Regret as an art with the folkloristic culture value of Tang dynasty in it,which are all based on the current research achievements and methods in the academic field.Based on the point of connection,this thesis applied the historic research methods for the understanding of the woods and used a rational attitude of historiography to explore culture background and the folkloristic background of the poem,we aim to dig out the folkloristic culture information of the Song of Everlasting Regret to a broad extend,and to understand and realize better the inner spirit and value of this poem.
