Ancient clothing vocabulary with monosyllabic words as the main part and its vocabulary is plentiful. It is denser in distribution and richer in meaning and it has research value. This paper studies the nouns related to clothes. It is divided into four categories:head suit, body suit, foot suit and body suit.A total of 101 words were collected, including 21 categories of head suit,40 categories of body suit,14 categories of foot suit and 28 categories of clothing components.Classify and interpret the relevant words, and analyze the motivation in detailIn the first four chapters,we find that there are synonyms and polysemy in the vocabulary of clothes.Synonyms are composed of rational meaning and additional meaning. In a category where multiple words express the same meaning. The difference of additional meaning causes the clothes vocabulary to be replaced or differentiated in the process of evolution,But they still have the same meaning. The polysemous original word of successive tense often deviates from the relative word meaning because of too many extended and borrowed items. For example, the term "mao" no longer refers to a head suit, the meaning was replaced by "hat".There is a trade-off between the polysemy terms, such as"ren",it named for its ability to hold objects. It can represent either the collar or the hem of a garment, but the hem is easier to carry than the collar,So it came to be referred to as a garment part. The results of substitution, differentiation and coexistence all point to the relationship between naming motivation and human social cognition. And the absolute advantage of clothing lexicon theory in form and function also shows that clothing vocabulary is inseparable from etiquette system and productive labo.
