Classroom environment refers to the sociopsychological environment in the classroom.Specifically,it is the aggregation of basic elements and situations of the teacher-student interaction and student-student interaction in the classroom,as well as the participants' personality characteristics,mental state,classroom psychological atmosphere and so on.Classroom environment plays an important role in the development of students' knowledge construction,emotional experiences and individual development.In the practice of teaching,College English Reading,Writing and Translating classroom is facing some problems: the teaching mode is single,classroom atmosphere is boring,interaction between teachers and students and cooperation between students and students are not ideal and so on,which are the obstacles to cultivating students' strong reading and writing ability.Flipped classroom is a new teaching mode with stress on effective interaction and promoting students' autonomous learning and cooperative learning.Theoretically,flipped classroom can help to overcome some problems in Reading,Writing and Translating teaching to optimize the classroom environment for better teaching and learning.This study takes College English Reading,Writing and Translating class of Wuhan University of Science and Technology as a case to study the influence of flipped classroom on learners' recognition of sociopsychological environment in Reading,Writing and Translating class.SPSS Statistics 21.0 is used to do quantitative analysis to study flipped classroom's influence on classes of different English levels and students of different English levels.Meanwhile,some students are interviewed from the qualitative research to get some supplementary data.Results of the study are:1)Flipped classroom helps to improve the classroom environment of College English Reading,Writing and Translating;the most significant improvement is on classroom environment factor “Teacher's Innovation”.2)Flipped classroom's influence on classes of different English levels differs significantly on classroom environment factors like “Student's Collaboration”,Student's Cooperation”,“Teacher's Support”and “Classroom Involvement”.Classroom environment improvement of good English proficiency class is significantly greater than that of poor English proficiency class on the mentioned factors.3)Flipped classroom's influence on classroom environment has significant individual difference: the positive influence of high English proficiency students is significantly greater than that of the lower ones on all factors;and theinfluence of medium English proficiency students is significantly greater than that of the lower ones on all factors except on “Student's Collaboration”,and the positive influence between high and medium English proficiency students is significantly different on classroom environment factors as “Student's Collaboration”,“Student's Cooperation”,“Classroom Involvement”,“Task Orientation” and “Equality”.Studying flipped classroom's influence on the classroom environment of College English Reading,Writing and Translating,summarizing and reflecting the characteristics of flipped College English Reading,Writing and Translating classroom teaching can help the teachers and researchers to understand the teaching environment in depth,thus promoting the exploration and searching for strategies and methods to optimize the classroom environment and ultimately improve teaching and learning quality of College English Reading,Writing and Translating.
