New English Curriculum(2017 version)puts forward a three dimensional grammar teaching method----"form--meaning--use" to teach English grammar in context.Grammar teaching and learning in Senior High School ought to get more students to be interested in grammar learning,provide more effective modes for students,help students with learning difficulties feel more confident of grammar learning and improve grammar teaching efficiency of teachers.However,too many problems exist in grammar teaching and learning.Teaching and learning process becomes long and dull using traditional and old modes with no greater grades after teachers and students spend plenty of time on grammar teaching and learning.Cooperation and communication between teachers and their students are not going as well as we imagine,making it harder to accomplish English grammar teaching and learning objectives.To solve the problems above,a great many English teachers explore more effective grammar teaching modes,among which level-based teaching and cooperation learning mode meets the needs of the idea of the New English Curriculum.The writer puts level-based teaching and cooperation learning mode to guide English grammar teaching and learning of Senior High School and wants to discover its practical effectiveness in teaching practice.Three questions are to be explored:1.How does the mode influence English grammar learning after teachers put it into practice?2.What impact does the mode have on the comprehensive English learning?The writer chooses two classes with 53 students respectively as the original class and experimental one.The writer invites 30 colleagues to help observe the experimental process.The experiment lasts for a whole semester,after which the writer makes the best of diverse instruments like English tests,questionnaires and interviews together with research methods of SPSS and Excel to cope with the data collected in the process so as to analyze whether the level-based teaching and cooperation learning mode is effective for English grammar teaching and learning of Senior High School.Eventually,the research finds:1.The mode has obviously improved the test scores of the experimental class after a term and the degree of score improvement is opposite to the level classification of students,which is beneficial to make students get better grammar abilities;2.The mode indicates that the scores of the final English test for the experimental class become higher and have linear relationship with the grade improvement of grammar test,which shows that better grammar learning has a positive effect upon students' comprehensive English learning.The study on the effectiveness of level-based teaching and cooperation learning mode in English grammar teaching and learning of Senior High School is meaningful both in enriching grammar teaching theory and practice.It helps English teachers explore more effective grammar teaching and learning modes.It is in coherence with the new development tendency of English teaching reform.
