| With the rapid development of technology,exchanges between countries have become more frequent.As China's international status and economic strength have improved significantly,people have increasingly valued and cared about the world and the world in their own eyes.The importance of culture and information exchange is increasingly prominent.What followed was the booming development of English news translation.Through the coverage of English news,people can get timely information,and enrich their vision and cultural life while understanding the big things at home and abroad.The author chose the English news report on Al Jazeera based on one year's working experience in Beijing Iyuba website.Relevance Theory was proposed by Sperber and Wilson in 1986.The translation report indicates the significance of relevance theory and tries to discuss with other translators about how to improve English news translation.There are four chapters in this report.The first chapter mainly describes the translation task,including the choice of English news source and the significance of English news translation.The second chapter focuses on the translation process,which is made up of preparation,analysis and proofreading.The third chapter mainly discusses how to translate English news from the perspective of Relevance Theory and analyses the cases.The last chapter is a conclusion part.It aims to summarize the experience and gains gained in the process of translation practice,while reflecting on the shortcomings and looking forward to a better translation practice.Translation is a complex cultural exchange.Through theory and practice,this report summarizes and accumulates experiences in English news translation.The author expected to provide some possible translation strategies and translation skills for other news translators. |
