In Huizhou area,the terrain is closed,the mountains are surrounded,and there are few wars in history,and the people gather to form a huge village settlement.However,due to the outbreak of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement,the population of Huizhou area in the late Qing Dynasty decreased sharply.After the war,in order to resume production,the late Qing government introduced incentives for immigration policies,coupled with the advantages of the natural human environment in Huizhou area,attracted a large number of immigrants.The immigrants in Huizhou mainly come from Anqing and Luzhou in the province,and there are also inter-provincial immigrants from Hunan,Hubei,Henan,and Jiangxi.Many refugees who evade the war come from the wind,or do business,or farming,through Huizhou The development of the region has led to the continuous improvement of the economic level of the region,the rapid development of agriculture and handmade commodities,and the continuous influx of foreign commodities,prompting the birth of many places in the region to become a distribution center for business.Moreover,the convenient water transportation has spawned the development of business,attracted many businessmen to do business,and the town of Wei has also risen along the river.The arrival of immigrants not only promoted the local economic development,but also brought about the culture of business immigrants.The rise of Huizhou merchants changed the social customs and culture of Huizhou and drove the development of Huizhou education and clan power.Affect the social changes in the region.The impact of immigration is two-way.Many immigrants have exacerbated the contradictions and conflicts with the local residents,and also brought a bad social atmosphere.They have an irreconcilable relationship with the local clan forces.In order to alleviate regional conflicts,the Qing government recruited foreign immigrants to come to reclaim the wasteland and issued a series of notices,so that the dispute between natives could be eased.Immigration has brought about major changes in education and social customs in Huizhou.The atmosphere of valuing business and good Confucianism has gradually formed,and Huizhou merchants and the imperial examination have developed simultaneously.In addition,immigration has also led to changes in architectural styles and dialects.The two have absorbed the culture of immigration sites and integrated development,which has become an important part of Huizhou culture today.
