John Keats was born in London in the late 18th century.He was brilliant and intelligent.Among all English romantic poets,he was outstanding.He attached great importance to beauty of poetry in form and language.Meanwhile,he was known as a real poet.In the 1960s,the Germany Constance School,represented by Hans Robert Jauss and Wolfgang Iser,proposed the Reception Theory which put the reader at the center of literature study.In terms of the Reception Theory,readers play an important role in achieving the meaning and value of the text.The Reception theory provides a new perspective for translation study,which is of great significance to the development of poetry translation in theory and practice.In the course of writing this thesis,the author finds that the versions of Keats'poetry are complicated,but in terms of quality and quantity,Mu Dan' s and Tu An' s versions are classics.In the aspect of Keats' poetry translation studies,the scholars have written a large number of academic papers,but the author finds that no scholar has studied the Keats' poetry translation with Reader Reception Theory so far.This article evaluates Mu Dan' s and Tu An' s famous versions from the perspective of Reader Reception theory through reading related literature,stating related theories and analyzing Mu Dan' s and Tu An' s versions in macro and micro levels.In addition,this article also analyzes the enlightenment of Reception theory to poetry translation deeply,study the basic features of popular versions and broaden the readers' understanding and reception of the famous versions.Through the study of this thesis,the author believes that the translators--Mu Dan and Tu An have similar life experiences with Keats,so they can accept the contents and thoughts of Keats poetry in the process of translation.Meanwhile,the author finds that in order to realize the value of the versions,the translators have taken care of the readers to a large extent in the process of translation.Finally,the author comes to a conclusion that poetry translation is endless.With the change of era,Keats' poetry may be given new contents and forms,but no matter when and where,the readers' reception is an important standard to judge the quality of versions.Therefore,the incoming translators must bring the readers' horizon of expectation and reception level into his own creative scope.
