"Major" is an obvious feature of higher education.College students learn different knowledge and skills according to their different majors.In recent years,the phenomenon of changing majors in universities is becoming more and more common.The phenomenon that college students have learning problems due to major problems also occurs from time to time,and the relationship between majors and students has gradually attracted attention.Previous studies on the relationship between major variables and students' learning are not enough.This study mainly examines the relationship between major satisfaction,learning engagement,interest-major fit and GPA ranking,and the relationship between the first three variables and students' major choice and future graduation direction.For the measurement of major satisfaction,the multi-dimensional major satisfaction scale developed by Li Xinyao(2017)was used.In the pre-study,308 undergraduate students were tested to analyze the reliability and validity of the multi-dimensional major satisfaction scale,and finally determined the title of the multi-dimensional major satisfaction scale.In the main study,1992 undergraduates were investigated with the revised major satisfaction scale,Bai's(2016)interest-major fit scale and Martin's(2008)Student Motivation and Engagement Scale-University/Collage.Using SPSS22.0,Mplus 8.1 to analyze the overall level of College Students' interest major matching degree,major satisfaction and learning engagement,the chain mediating role of major satisfaction and learning engagement in the influence of interest-major fit on GPA ranking,and the differences of major satisfaction,learning engagement and interest-major fit between students with different major selection methods and future graduation directions.The results showed that: 1(1)The revised 21 item 5-dimensional scale,the interest-major fit and the Student Motivation and Engagement Scale-University/Collage(MES-U/C)showed good reliability and validity.(2)There are significant differences in grade and major satisfaction.Freshmen usually have higher major satisfaction,matching degree and learning engagement than other grades.The scores of medical students in major satisfaction,interest-major fit and learning engagement are usually higher than those of other majors.(3)The influence of interest-major fit degree on GPA ranking is mediated by the chain of major satisfaction and learning engagement.The results of structural equation model show that the chain intermediary model fits well.Bootstrap test showed that the chain mediated effect was significant.(4)There are significant differences in the degree of major satisfaction,learning engagement and interest-major fit among students with different major selection methods."Individual choice of college entrance examination volunteer" is higher than "parents or other people's choice" and "school adjustment" in terms of major satisfaction,interest-major fit and learning investment.(5)There are some significant differences in the degree of major satisfaction,learning engagement and interest-major fit in different future graduation directions.After graduation,the degree of major satisfaction,interest-major fit and learning engagement of the students related to their major are significantly higher than those who have nothing to do with their major after graduation.
