| Interest is a special kind of conscious tendency and also the motivation for learning and knowledge. Once learners have become interested in Chinese learning, they will learn it actively. Therefore, interest is the innermost drive for Chinese learning. That is, interest is the most practical and most active element in the course of Chinese learning, which creates affection and pursuit and thus it is also a guide for learning Chinese well. However, Chinese teaching and learning of the majors of pre-school education has its own characteristics. The learners lay much less emphasis on Chinese learning because it is not a main course for them. Most learners in vocational high schools think that Chinese is of little help in their future work, so they become less motivational and have less interest in it, which results in costing but embarrassing Chinese teaching and learning. But in the meanwhile, feedback from kindergartens shows that the Chinese of vocational school leavers is far from enough for their work and the ultimate purpose of vocational education is major-centered. Teachers of Chinese should make their efforts to motivate the learners so as to improve Chinese teaching and learning.Based on analyses of the factors with impact on the Chinese learning of vocational school learners, the present thesis illustrates the strategies and specific methods of how to motivate the learners:First, teachers should mainly combine the Chinese knowledge and skills with their professional knowledge and skills.Second, teachers should adopt proper methods which cater to the learners;Third, teachers should help the learners experience the pleasure from the success in Chinese learning by making full use of their intelligence competence.Fourth, teachers should manage to create light-hearted teaching and learning environment and atmosphere to be more emotionally effective. |
