| China has made remarkable achievements in science and technology,attract more overseas students have studied in the science and engineering university.After taking a full year college-prep course,preparatory students enter the undergraduate and study with Chinese students.Chinese for science and technology course as one of basic required course of overseas preparatory students,which is important obviously,it plays a role as a bridge link between secondary education and undergraduate education.We take the SHEWAI of Harbin Institute of Technology,for instance,make a systematic study for teaching Chinese for science and technology,and give a brief introduction of the teaching situation and trends.We research in following aspects,which include the implementation of SHEWAI,teaching aims,teaching content,teaching method,using status of teaching materials,curriculum and the method in language test.Firstly,we give a brief introduction of the concepts as well as its features,emphasize the important of teaching Chinese for science and technology,summarize the research achievements of teaching Chinese for science and technology for more than 30 years.Secondly,we introduce the situation of SHEWAI,including enrollments and teacher's qualification.We research in following aspects,which include teaching aims,teaching content,teaching method,teaching materials using,curriculum and the method in language test.Based on the above work,design a specific teaching cases,which takes Chinese reading and writing course of science and technology(BaiXiaohong,BEIJING LANGUAGE AND CULTURE UNIVERSITY PRESS)the sixth class "position and direction" as an example,find some problems in the teaching and make some recommendations.Finally,we observed that the limitations of teachers,textbooks,teaching methods,according to the productive practice and experience,and puts forward suggestions to help with the development of teaching Chinese for science and technology. |
