Future time insight is a personality trait of individuals' cognition,experience and action tendency towards future time.Achievement goal orientation refers to students' cognition of their academic tasks and the causes and purposes of their academic achievements,which is a comprehensive feature of cognition,emotion and behavior.Academic self-handicapping is the act of setting up barriers in advance to avoid possible negative outcomes and prepare reasonable excuses for potential failure in the typical case of school and classroom ability evaluation.The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics and current situation of high school students' future time insight,achievement goal orientation and academic self-handicapping,and to further explore the relationship among the three,so as to provide targeted Suggestions for students to reduce academic self-handicapping in educational practice.In this study,504 students from four high schools in heilongjiang province were surveyed by using the future time insight scale,the four-part target orientation scale and the academic self-handicapment questionnaire.The results were as follows: first,in terms of future time insight,girls scored significantly higher in the dimension of future plan than boys;For high school students whose parents have a bachelor's degree or above,the dimensions of future plan and future clarity are significantly higher than those whose parents have a high school degree or below.Lower grade students were significantly higher than senior high students in the dimensions of future negativity and future confusion,and significantly lower than senior high students in the dimensions of future positivity,future clarity and future planning.Secondly,in the aspect of achievement goal orientation,female students are significantly higher than male students,urban students are significantly higher than rural students,and only children are significantly higher than non-only children.Rural students were significantly higher than urban and urban students in the dimensions of approaching and avoiding grades.In the dimension of achievement avoidance and mastery avoidance,the students ingrade one were significantly higher than those in other grades,and the only child was significantly lower than the non-only child.Students whose parents have a high school education or less have higher grades than those whose parents have a bachelor's degree or higher.Thirdly,in the aspect of academic self-handicapping,boys' scores in the dimension of behavioral self-handicapping were significantly higher than girls';In the dimensions of behavioral self-handicapping and claimed self-handicapping,urban students were significantly higher than rural students,and senior three students were significantly higher than other grades.Fourth,achievement goal orientation mediates between future time perception and academic self-handicapping.
