A Study On Emotional Concern And Expression In Books Designed For The Elderly

On August 22,2019,National Bureau of Statistics of China released20 of a series of reports on China's economic and social development achievements on the 70 th anniversary of the founding of new China.The report shows that with the formation of the aging age structure,China began to enter the aging society.The acceleration of population aging is a risk and challenge for population development in the new era.The elderly change both physically and psychologically as they grow older.Physiologically,such as visual deterioration,slower reaction times,difficulty concentrating,and memory loss,lead to dyslexia.Psychologically,such as increased sensitivity,anxiety,loneliness,loss and depression,the elderly are more eager to share,more eager to be noticed and understood.Reading is an effective way to help the elderly acquire knowledge,adapt to the changes of times and eliminate negative emotions.The proper design of books has become one of the solutions to meet the emotional needs of the elderly.This paper is devoted to the study of emotional design in books for the elderly.From the perspective of book design,it focuses on how to alleviate the reading disability of the elderly through visual design,functional design and emotional interaction design,and gain pleasant reading experience and feel the emotional care brought by the emotional design of books.At the same time,it is a beneficial attempt to design the emotional thoughts and methods of books for specific groups.The first chapter analyzes the background of the research and determines the research methods and ideas;In the second chapter,through literature research,Maslow's hierarchy of needs,emotional design theory and customer satisfaction theory are determined as the theoretical basis and practical guidance of this paper,use product thinking to determine the train of thought for research and analysis,and define the research object and related concepts of "emotional design in books for the elderly";The third chapter mainly expounds the design idea of the questionnaire,and USES the methods of market survey and interview to compare and analyze the needs of the elderly for books and classify them.The solutions are divided into three aspects: "five senses design","reading functional design" and "emotional interactive design".Because the design status of these three aspects is inconsistent with the needs of the elderly,they are more dyslexic in reading and more difficult to feel the emotional care brought by the emotional design of books.Based on this,in the fourth chapter,aiming at the physiological and psychological needs of the elderly,the author puts forward the following countermeasures: to carry out "five-sense design",to improve "reading functional design",and to explore "book interactive design".The above forms the reference index of emotion design project in the fifth chapter and guides the application design of such books.In short,the author hopes that the research path and design countermeasures in this paper can form a referential research ideas and methods,which can help designers in the book design of specific groups,especially for the elderly,to provide some references,alleviate the reading disability of the elderly,and provide some help for the elderly to obtain emotional satisfaction in reading.
