| Global warming has accelerated the ice melting in the Arctic,which brings about a negative impact on the ecosystem,and captures the world`s attention to the Arctic politics as well.The author participated in the translation project of E-C translation of the book Russia and the Arctic: Environment,Identity and Foreign Policy,which is supposed to help Chinese readers better understand Arctic affairs.The style of the book is of semi-academic monograph and semi-essay,and the subject of the book is of international politics.The translation is completed in the mode of “machine translation + post-editing”.During post-editing,the author found logical errors at the sentence level are an important factor affecting the readability of translation.After analyzing and comparing,the author divided high frequency sentence logical errors into rigid sentence segmentation,rigid translation of logical connection words,unclear logical relationship,and chaotic order structure.The author proposed the amending strategies in light of the functional translation theories,post-editing guidelines proposed by Translation Automation User Society(TAUS),and the research results by other scholars in translation,and the amending strategies adopted are information reorganization,logical manifestation,amplification,and order adjustment.After post-editing,the author summarized three major entry points to conduct the full post-editing,semantics and information,logic and word order,and punctuation and formatting.The report summarizes the discovery and classification of sentence logical errors,and reflects on the “machine translation + post-editing” translation mode.The report is of a predictive significance in the logic errors in machine texts of the same type and it provides a reference for other translators on post-translation editing strategies. |
