Hui Yuan of Ching-ying Temple in Sui Dynasty is a representative figure of the Southern School of the Southern School,and is known as the "Three Masters of the Sui Dynasty" with Chih-i and Chi-tsangi.Hui Yuan has a wide range of insights and unique insights.The section of "Ching-t'u" in the chapter of Mahayana righteousness can be regarded as a general discussion of Hui Yuan's ching-t'u thought.Based on this text,this paper analyzes Hui Yuan's ching-t'u thought and compares it with that of Chih-i and Chi-tsangi.In the chapter of Mahayana,Hui Yuan believes that ching-t'u can be divided into Ordinary ching-t'u,Hsiang ching-t'u,and Chen ching-t'u.The common people who live in the ching-t'u take the cultivation of the leaky good root and the worldly good root as the causes of their past lives;the hearsay sense of the ching-t'u and the three top Bodhisattvas take the cultivation of the sense of fate as the causes of their past lives;the ten saints and the equal sense Bodhisattvas who live in the ching-t'u and the Buddhas practice the non initiation and six times ten thousand behaviors as the causes of their past lives;all living beings and Buddhas repay the earth,and all the ten dharmas are revealed from the Buddhas Dharma bodies and it also depends on the Buddha's Dharma body.Combined with other annotations,this paper interprets and interprets the above contents in modern sense.
