Chinese Transference In English Writing

Listening,speaking,reading and writing are the basic abilities that students should develop in studying English.Among them,writing is the best way to reflect the students' comprehensive ability in learning English.Therefore,the writing course plays a vital part in teaching English.However,in reality,teachers usually adopt pretty conventional teaching methods in writing course,which makes students have difficulty improving their writing ability and leads to anxiety in writing.On account of this situation,the author attempted to explore new teaching strategies of English writing based on the language transfer theory,contrastive analysis theory,error analysis theory and interlanguage theory.To conclude the proper teaching strategies of English writing,the author used questionnaires to subjects,knowing subjects' realization to mother tongue transfer.Meanwhile,the author made statistic analysis of mistakes on mother tongue transfer by evaluating students' compositions.Then,some corresponding teaching strategies were put forward,which were applied to teaching writing for the experimental class in a teaching experiment.As for the control class,generally practiced methods would still be used.Through the analysis and discussion of the students' reading scores before and after the test in control class and experimental class,the author found that the subjects in the experimental group had significant advantages over those in the control group.It can be concluded that these methods are more effective teaching methods in improving students' writing ability.Besides,24 common errors were found in senior middle school students' English writing,which could be further divided into interlingual errors and inner-lingual errors.The reasons for interlingual errors are various.The most important one is mother tongue transfer caused by the differences between English and Chinese.Mother tongue transfer includes three aspects,such as words,sentences,and expressions.
