The humanitarian concept of "relieving the poor" is an important part of Chinese traditional culture.Charitable organizations are the main carriers of humanitarian concepts,they play an important role in social assistance in the traditional period,and they are also a hot issue in the study of social history.However,as one of human activities,charity activities are always based on the geographical environment of a certain area.Therefore,this paper uses historical geography and sociology-related theories and methods to study the charity organizations for women and children in Sichuan Province during the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.By analyzing its spatial and temporal distribution,operating status and its influencing factors,the interaction relationship between women's and children's relief charities and the geographical environment is investigated,with a view to providing historical reference for the rational allocation of modern charity resources.This article discusses the distribution and changes of Sichuan in the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China according to the two categories of women's relief charity organizations and child-raising charity organizations.The main research contents are as follows:The first part is the introduction.This part mainly explains the basis for selecting the topic of the thesis,including the origin of the topic,the definition of related concepts,the research status,the academic and practical significance of the research,and research methods.The second part explores the spatiotemporal distribution and operational status of women's relief charity organizations in Sichuan Province during the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.Periodically study the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.Among the charity organizations for women's relief in Sichuan in the Qing Dynasty andthe Republic of China,although the Qing Festival's charity society was not large in total and its ultimate purpose was to maintain feudal etiquette,it objectively did play a role in relieving unfortunate women and participated in The modern transformation of charity organizations.Spatially,two developed regions,namely,the central Sichuan region with Chongqing as the core and the western Sichuan region with Chengdu as the center,are formed in Chongqing.The third part mainly discusses the spatiotemporal distribution and operation status of child-raising charities in Sichuan Province during the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.Periodically study the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.In terms of time,child-raising charitable organizations reached the peak of development during the Guangxu years,and modern transformation was achieved in the late Qing and early Republican periods.From the perspective of space,the central Sichuan area is still the most developed area for child-raising charitable organizations in Sichuan Province.The fourth part mainly discusses the space operation of women and children's charity organizations.There are differences in the coverage of charitable organizations at different levels,cooperation between charitable organizations,and relations with countries.The regional environment provides different geospatial and socio-economic foundations for charitable organizations.While charitable organizations help the poor and stabilize the society,their educational role also promotes the construction of humanistic spirit in the region.The fifth part discusses the modern transformation of women's and children's charitable organizations and the connection and difference between them.The transformation of traditional women's and children's relief charitable organizations to modern times is the result of the combination of many factors.There are many links and differences between women's relief and child-rearing charitable organizations,such as the common place of women's relief and child-rearing charitable organizations,and their funds often cross-use,the difference is mainly reflected in its distribution density and scale,relief conditions and so on.
