Study On The Influence Of Background Music On The Mood Of Prospective Work

According to the survey of White Paper On Mental Health Of Urban Residents In China which was released in April 2018,89.7 percent of people were in a poor mental health situation.The main manifestations of people's mental health problems when working were ‘high pressure' and ‘bad mood'.People's mental health issues have received more and more attention.Some studies have shown that background music can be used as a means to regulate emotions and improve mental health.As an important environmental factor,background music has drawn researchers' attention.The survey found that using background music is universal and the global background music market is flourishing.Previous studies showed that background music is different from other traditional music.Background music exists on the premise of prospective work,prospect and background are interdependent.Background music itself is not the core activity of an individual;it can drown out the environmental noise,create a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere,and affect people's moods and behaviors.Studies have shown that background music can produce positive or negative emotional effects in prospective work.In order to explore the emotional impact of different background music types in different foreground work types,this article observes the behavioral and physiologically significant emotional characteristics of different background music and different foreground work types,so as to find a best background music and foreground work combination,which can have a positive impact on emotions.To solve this problem,this study designed two experiments.Experiment 1 uses behavioral experiments to explore the affection of background music's liking degree on prospective work.This experiment is a within subjects design,and the independent variables are three kinds of background music(Favorable background music,disliked background music and no background music).During the experiment,the subjects were allowed to perform three times 20-minute uniform walking experiments with no background music,favorite background music and disliked background music.After the experiment,they need to fill in the positive and negative sentiment scale.SPSS 22.0was used to compare the difference between positive emotions and negative emotions in the Positive and Negative Emotion Scale of the three tasks.As a result,it was found thatpeople's liking for background music affected their emotions in prospective work.People are satisfying when they work in the background music they like,and the score of positive emotions increases.But playing background music that you don't like as a working environment,people's needs are not satisfied,so negative emotions will increase.Experiment 2 uses EEG experiments to study the effect of background music on mood in prospective work with different degrees of automation.This experiment uses 2(task automation level: simple task with medium and high level,difficult task with low and medium level)× 2(with or without background music: no background music,with background music)two-factor mixed design.Among that,task difficulty is between-subjects design,and with or without background music is within subjects design.It was found that the significant differences between simple tasks and difficult tasks with or without background music are in the frontal area.In a simple task,the beta wave decreases with background music,and the connection strength of the brain function between the right frontal lobe and the central parietal lobe increases.The relative energy situation of the alpha wave and the beta wave is as follows: with background music,the alpha wave and the beta wave account for more in the right forehead area.In difficult tasks,the power of the alpha wave and the beta wave increase when background music is played,and the strength of the brain functional connection in the prefrontal brain area and the central parietal brain area is significantly improved.The relative energy of the alpha wave and beta wave has a high share in the right prefrontal area.Whether it is in a difficult task or a simple task,background music can stimulate more positive emotional effects.In simple tasks,background music can play a role in alleviating tension and anxiety.In the difficult task,background music can improve concentration and promote excitement.Therefore,the experiment concluded that the use of background music in the prospective work of the medium automatic level has a positive promotion effect on emotions.Through Experiment 1 and Experiment 2,the importance of background music type and foreground work type can be obtained.Choosing one's favorable background music can have a positive emotional impact in foreground work.The using of background music in the foreground work of medium to high-level simple tasks and medium to low-level difficult tasks has a positive effect on one's mood---in simple tasks,background music can relieve tension and anxiety and play a relaxing role;In difficulttasks,background music can increase attention and promote the generation of excitement.
