| Flower-and-bird paintings became an independent branch during the Tang Dynasty,and formed a variety of artistic features in Song Dynasty.The elaborate,realistic and colorful style of imperial-court decorative paintings became the mainstream at that time.Influenced by the theory of literati-paintings and the reclusive thought,flower-and-bird paintings were mostly freehand in the Yuan Dynasty.In the process of the change of painting style from Song Dynasty to Yuan Dynasty,an new form of painting called the ink meticulous flower-and-bird painting appeared.This kind of paintings named the ink flower-and-bird painting by descendants formed a unique artistic style when it developed into Yuan Dynasty.Wang Yuan’s“The Painting of Peach Blossom,Bamboo and Golden Pheasant”which was on the basis of the ink meticulous flower-and-bird painting of the Southern Song Dynasty and developed that was one of the representative works of the ink flower-and-bird painting.Through the specific research of Wang Yuan’s “The Painting of Peach Blossom,Bamboo and Golden Pheasant”,this article will analyze its social background and discuss how Wang Yuan inherited the ink meticulous flower-and-bird painting of the Southern Song Dynasty from the aspects of the theme,the colour and the painting function.In addition,this article will compare Wang Yuan’s innovation and development with the ink meticulous flower-and-bird painting of the Southern Song Dynasty from five ways of ideology,technique,shape,layout and artistic conception in order to recognize and comb the graphical evolution of the inkmeticulous flower-and-bird painting from the Southern Song Dynasty to Yuan Dynasty.On the other hand,it will highlights the historical value of Wang Yuan’s painting and expound the inheritance and development of the ink meticulous flower-and-bird painting at the present time by doing like this. |
