Research On Zhang Yiwei's Novels From The Perspective Of Modernity

Zhang Yiwei is a young writer who was born in Shanghai Workers' Village.The dramatic changes in Shanghai in the modernity wave made her feel at a loss,and the shadow of broken family made her suffer from loneliness since childhood.Therefore,how to adapt the modern civilization to the individual and family has been reflected in her novel creation.The characters are always struggling between pursuing a modern self and returning to a traditional family.This article is based on Zhang Yiwei's personal experience and her understanding of novel creation,combined with modernity theory,combing out the personal and family adaptations of modern civilization in her works,and digging out the survival dilemma and causes of her characters.Zhang Yiwei's creation expresses her sympathy and thinking for the modern people,especially the bottom-level people represented by the residents of Shanghai Workers' Village.The thesis is divided into three chapters.The first chapter discusses the performance of loneliness in its novels from the three dimensions of urban development,family fragmentation and personal inner closure,and then studies the loneliness experience in Zhang Yiwei's theory in the context of modernity.The second chapter analyzes the causes of Zhang Yiwei's theory of the survival dilemma of characters from the perspective of modern production,material and technology,and analyzes the contradiction between these factors' alienation of the individual and the individual subjectivity required by modernity.The third chapter is from the perspective of Zhang Yiwei's writing on the body and disease,and found that Zhang Yiwei's repeated writing of the painful experience achieved the purpose of establishing the subject,and at the same time,by rebuilding the concept of a modern family,it constituted a guarantee for the individual,so that this kind of loneliness and Alienation is healed.
