The Space Construction And Identity In Zhang Yiwei's Novels

This paper takes the works of Zhang Yiwei,a young writer in Shanghai,as an object of analysis.In the text with obvious spatial consciousness,she explores the relationship between herself and the surrounding world with her rich life experience.From the perspective of spatial writing and identity,the connotation of her characters and emotions can be excavated to highlight the traits of her writing.This paper is divided into four parts:In the first chapter,from the perspective of urban geographical space,the contrast between Shanghai and Taiwan is the potential background and expression space in her works.First of all,Zhang Yiwei upholds the depiction of the daily life of Shanghai style literature,writes the secular life and human scenery in the space of the Shanghai workers' new village,and expresses the emotional perception and value judgment of the workers' new village——the space is rural while the spirit is urban.Secondly,Zhang Yiwei's learning life in Taiwan has enriched her life experience,which enables her to continue to grow and to write out Taiwan's cultural landscape and the human feelings with joy or sorrow.The contrast between foreign land and hometown was an observation perspective after she came to Taiwan to study.Thirdly,Zhang Yiwei's experience in the two different places offered her an opportunity to write in different spatial attempts,and the thought to different language levels in different places,which are unified into two writing containers —— Shanghai and Taiwan,to establish the framework in space and highlight the significance within time elapsing.In the second chapter,taking the alternative space of emotional imagination as the starting point,Zhang Yiwei has always been concerned with the family.Through the dreams in the text,cyber virtual space,and ritual spaces such as wedding and funerals and dinners,the complex emotional relationships between people in the family are analyzed and the issues of how to repose their emotions are considered.Her “family experiment” is a unity of real and fictional,opening and closing,limited and limitless,visibility and invisibility.It is in the third space beyond the real andfictional,full of contradictions and tensions of heterogeneous emotions.The charm of this experiment lies in the destruction of normal people's emotional way of emotional thinking and the reconstruction on possibility of family heterotopias.The third chapter deals with the important connection between time and space using Bakhtin's Theory of Chronotope.The image of space reflects the existence of time,and the meaning of space depends on the meaning of time.Whether it is the growth of the mind,the meeting of time and space,the memory of the photographic studio,or the daily cycle.From the space writing of Zhang Yiwei's works,we can see the extraordinary power of time and realize the meaning of time.The staggering of space and time constitutes the overall growth of Zhang Yiwei.It is the growth of her mind and the change of knowledge that make Zhang Yiwei's writing career continuous and recognized by the society.Different periods of time,different ages of growth.Observing in time,it uses time to enrich social changes of the space and to show the unique memories and values in the accumulation of history.In the fourth chapter,the flow of time and the displacement of space affect the way that the author understands the world.It redefines the identity of oneself in the interlacing of time and the relationship between the individual and the city in the spatial displacement.How to find oneself in the transformation of time and space,and what kind of self is the problem needed to be explored in her text.Whether in Shanghai or Taiwan,her focus on social cognition and writing is closely related to the writer's recognition of identity.Besides,we can see the essence of her writing through the identity.In the temporal and spatial circulation of Zhang Yiwei's writing,the heroine's inner complexity is related to identity and group identity.Conclusion: It is the time and space that affect the way of writers to understand the world.In the transformation of time,and the displacement of space,efforts should be made to reconstruct self identity cognition and should constantly look for their position and expand the urban writing and imagination.The summary on Zhang Yiwei's writing gives us a feeling of "close",and it's very introverted,not so open.The sense of calmness is a guarantee for her enduring writing and pursuance for the identity of her own.Young writers need more critical attention to expand moreavailable development space.
