Wang Zengqi and Tsutomu Mizukami are both writers of the 20 th century,and they experience similar social changes,and both turn their creative horizons to the traditional villages invaded by capitalization,urbanization,commercialization and industrialization,explore the national cultural traditions rooted in the local culture,give deep humanitarian sympathy to the poor people at the bottom,and show deep nostalgia and retrospect for the passing of rural civilization.This paper takes the “seeking root” in the native literature as the starting point,makes a systematic comparative study of the two writers' native novels,and uses the theories of theme and narratology to explain the relevant issues.The first chapter explores the origin and exposition of the concept of “seeking root” in Wang Zengqi's and Tsutomu Mizukami's native literature,which is divided into three sections.From the perspective of the following three aspects: the childhood experience of the two writers,long experience of living far away from home,and influenced by the social environment,the creation process of breaking away from pure literature,the first section discusses the departure and return of the native literature creation in the author's creation career,which is caused by the external influence.The first section discusses the influence of “seeking root” consciousness on native literature from the internal development clue and process.The third section discusses after a period of other text theme creation,they find the spiritual needs of returning to the nation and the traditional value system,as well as the reaction to the society,under the social development environment of politicization and commercialization.The second chapter discusses the significance and function of the birth of “seeking root” concept from the perspective of different themes and aesthetic value system of the two writers,as well as the differences presented in the works.From the perspective of the subject,this paper explores the experience of hometown and the return of spiritual home,the identification of national traditional values,the brilliant exploration of humanitarianism and the great creation reflecting the lives of the people at the bottom.From the objective conditions and subjective factors,the paper discusses the significance of the two writers' native literature creation,the deep meaning and the reaction to the society expressed in the works,so as to explore the theme connotation of the native literature of the two great writers Wang Zengqi and Tsutomu Mizukami.The third chapter is divided into two sections,which discusses the return of man to the rural nature,promotes cultural exchange and mutual integration under the oriental aesthetics,refines and shapes human culture,and promotes human civilization.And it also discusses the influence of traditional culture,folk culture and aesthetic consciousness on his works from the poetic novels and the novel creation at present stage to the return of rural nature.This paper discusses the prose trend of novels brought by the idyllic narrative mode under the concept of “seeking roots”,and the classical aesthetics under the traditional culture of China and Japan.The paper attempts to explore the core of traditional culture contained in the works through analysis and comparison,and makes the readers correctly recognize the status and advantages of Chinese national culture in the conflict and integration of multi-cultural;and it also explores the significance of the return of traditional culture contained in the national roots for the present era.
