System of forgiveness,it is the act of exempting or mitigating the punishment of a criminal,it was a commutation of punishment in ancient Chinese society.According to the types of abdication,it can be roughly divided into amnesty,a certain degree of absolution,DeYin,interrogating prisoners,fall executed and amnesty.Each category has its own characteristics.The book of absolution as the carrier of the system of absolution was issued by the emperor,it was one of the emperor's imperial decree,therefore,absolution and imperial power have an inseparable relationship.System of forgiveness is an embodiment of the emperor's exercise of judicial power,at the same time,the number and frequency of pardon also reflect the strength of the imperial power.System of forgiveness came into being during the Shang dynasties and Zhou dynasties and matured during the end of Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties after the development of the Qin dynasties and Han dynasties.Therefore,this paper mainly explores the development of the system of forgiveness from the end of Tang dynasty to the Five dynasties and it also discusses its influence on the early song dynasty.This paper summarizes the imperial power of the Tang end Five dynasties from the system of forgiveness.This paper is mainly divided into the following four parts:The first part mainly introduce the types of absolution and its execution,discussing the ritual procedure of the pardoning of the golden rooster and the object of pardoning.The second part mainly discusses the changes of amnesty,deyin and interrogating prisoners from the late tang dynasty to the Five dynasties and its influence on the early Song dynasties,discovering its characteristic from it.The third part analyzes the legal procedure of forgiveness through historical materials,discussing the relationship between the decree for pardon and the imperial decree,discussing the legal effect of decree for pardon.The fourth part mainly discusses the imperial power during the Tang end Five dynasties from the system of forgiveness.The imperial edict was issued by the emperor,so it was necessary to discuss the question of imperial power.
