Tang Dynasty Shed Study

"Exiled prisoners" means the exiled people of according to exiled law. In the Tang Dynasty, there are numerous exiled prisoners, which is forming a special social group. This is worthy of studing deeply. This paper bases on the achievement of previous studies, tracing the beginning of the exiled prisoners. This article divides into five parts to discuss the relative question of the exiled prisoners:The first part is an introduction. I review academic fruits of the exiled prisoners. The previous scholars study mainly the geographical position of the exiled prisoners, extraordinary the study of the exiled prisoners in the LingNan area.There are some insufficient in the era characteristics of the exiled prisoners and the influential factors of the area. Therefore, it is necessary to study deeply.The second part discusses the relevant provisions of the Tang-law to the exiled prisoners. The article studys the basic processes of the exiled law, pointing out that there are three steps of the exiled law,which are sentencing crimes,the exiling journey and reformed in the exiled areas.The Tang-law defines the exiled personal identity,the exiled journey and the management in the exiled areas.The third part researches the time characteristics of the exiled prisoners in the Tang Dynasty. There are many political exiled prisoners in the pre-Tang Dynasty, on account of the slaughter in the palace,whose identity are special,so they are exiled to the LingNan area. In the middle and late periods, thousands of exiled people settle LingNan distribution still, but their status gradually reduce, whose are the insurgents of FanZhen regime.In the later period, the exiled prisoners are the mighty eunuch caused by the dictator for narses.In the fourth part, I research the area of the exiled prisoners in the geographical distribution of the Tang Dynasty. The exiled prisoners scatter in 11 distributions, the quantity is different in the early,middle or late period of the Tang Dynasty, however, northwest regions and LingNan,JianNan distribution are the main areas.There are many factors affecting the distribution of the exiled prisoners,which are national policy, class attribute, crime properties and natural environment. They are important factores of shed distribution difference.The fifth part assesses the exiled prisoners of the Tang Dynasty shed. By following the Sui Dynasty, the Tang-rulers enact a new law to meet the practical needs. The exiled prisoners have enormous role to the development of the local areas, with their own wisdom and labor promoting the local economic and cultural development.Based on the study to the exiled law and exiled system of the Tang Dynasty,this paper researches the relevant provisions of the Tang-law to the exiled prisoners,the time characteristics of the exiled prisoners and the area of the exiled prisoners in the geographical distribution of the Tang Dynasty,which are enormous impact in the future study.
