This study mainly discusses the influence of passive use of social networking sites on high school students' stress perception, and the chain mediation of upward social comparison and rumination.A total of 542 students from three high schools in Harbin,Heilongjiang Province were selected as subjects and tested with the Passive Social Website Usage Questionnaire,Upward Social Comparison Scale,Ruminant Thinking Scale and Chinese Perceived Stress Scale.Research shows that:(1)There are gender differences in passive use of social networking sites for senior high school students, with girls scoring higher than boys. There is a gender difference in the upward social comparison of high school students in the use of social networking sites, with girls scoring higher than boys. There is a difference in rumination thinking between the only child and the non-only child, and the only child has a higher score than the nononly child. There are gender differences in high school students' stress perception, and girls score higher than boys.(2)Correlation analysis shows that there is a significant positive correlation between passive social website usage, upward social comparison, rumination and stress perception.(3)Passive social website usage can directly and positively predict the stress perception level of high school students.(4)Upward social comparison and rumination play an intermediary role in the influence of passive social networking site use on stress perception.Specifically, the use of passive social networking sites affects senior high school students' stress perception level through two paths: one is the independent mediating effect of upward social comparison; The second is the chain intermediary function of upward social comparison ? rumination. The data in this study can be used to study the relationship between passive social website use and stress perception of high school students. The research conclusion can provide empirical evidence for the relationship model between passive social website use and stress perception, and also provide theoretical support for high school mental health work.
