For a long period of time,English grammar,as a key part of English learning,has been playing an important role in English education in China's middle school.However,according to the core quality of English discipline proposed by the latest English curriculum standards for senior high schools,the current English grammar teaching is deficient in cultivating students' language ability,cultural awareness,thinking quality and learning ability.With the reform and improvement of foreign language teaching methods,many scholars at home and abroad have proposed to integrate context into English grammar teaching.Therefore,in order to improve the effect of English grammar teaching in senior high schools and respond positively to contextual learning proposed by the latest English curriculum standards,this study mainly discusses the advantages of context-centered grammar teaching in improving traditional grammar teaching.Based on the context theory and the invisible grammar teaching theory,this study,on the basis of reviewing relevant literature,takes the case analysis as the main method,with the method of observation and interview attached.And the study analyzes and summarizes the collected “if unreal conditionals” teaching cases from three aspects of presentation,practice and production.Through the comparison between traditional grammar teaching method and context-centered grammar teaching method,this paper tries to find out the main problems of English grammar teaching in high school,as well as the advantages of context-centered grammar teaching method in improving traditional grammar teaching.Based on case analysis and interview,the author takes “if unreal conditionals” as the research perspective and puts forward the teaching strategies and lesson design of applying context theory to subjunctive mood teaching.Meanwhile,relevant teaching suggestions are put forward for context grammar teaching: context creation and interest enhancement;corpus analysis and understanding enhancement;Context practice and application enhancement.Through the case analysis,the teaching strategies and lesson design proposed in the paper embody the core concept of contextual grammar teaching.Combined with context,the grammar teaching tries to cultivate students' interest,enhance students' understanding and comprehensively improve students' language ability.The study takes the subjunctive mood,a specific grammar point,as the research object,and puts forward the current grammar teaching problems in high school.Based on subjunctive mood,the study proposes current grammar teaching problems and corresponding teaching design and teaching suggestions,which have certain theoretical and practical value in expanding the research perspective of context theory and strengthening the context-centered grammar teaching.
