Classroom activities are an important part of English classroom teaching,and also an important carrier for effective interaction between teachers and students,which are conducive to achieving a better "learning" of students and a better "teaching" of teachers.In the junior high school English classrooms,the classroom activities can facilitate the input of sufficient language resources,and at the same time create as natural an environment as possible to help students achieve more language output.However,the current situation of “focused” input and“ignored” output makes it inefficient to foster the students' comprehensive English ability,especially the output ability in the junior high school English classroom activities.Therefore,the author believes it necessary to carry out a systematic study of middle school English classroom activities from the perspective of students' language output in order to put forward some practical suggestions for teachers to better employ classroom activities to promote students' comprehensive English ability.This is where this research mostly wants to arrive.By reading relevant literature to see a whole picture about the current output-related researches in the field of classroom activities,the author got the latest results,and found out what the current research pays little or no attention.At the same time,through the literature and classroom observations,the author summarized the specific defectiveperformance in classroom activities,such as the knowledge-oriented goal,the low negotiation rate and lack of the real life meanings,the trend of“form over content”,the inefficient implementation,and etc.Through interviewing and other methods,the author concluded the reasons behind the problem,including the three main factors,which are the environment,teachers and students.At last,based on the reasons,the author tries to provide some practical suggestions for the front-line teachers,which is specifying goals,optimizing design,polishing implementation,and improving evaluation.And at the same time,more findings can be added to the theoretical and practical researches related to language output in the English classes in junior high schools.In classroom activities,it is of great significance for English teaching to employ more attention and more scientific methods to students' language output.
