The poetic characteristics of Guo Moruo's historical drama makes it a pioneer of historical drama art in the eyes of many people. The social value and historical achievements of his six historical dramas, which were created in 1940‘s,have been recognized in the history of modern Chinese literature.Based on his talent,Guomoruo corporated various styles of poetic elements into historical dramas in his writing period, which makes his drama is full with the feature of "volcanic thunder and lightning".Honstly, his drama cr eated in the War of Resistance Against Japan inevitably had political utilitarian tendencies, which is suspected of being rough and hasty. However,if we appreciate his work based on his utilitarian tendencies,we will misrepresent his works.Obviously,Guo Moruo's historical drama consciously inherited excellent traditional operas to extract the essence, and applied ancient poems, free poems, prose, folk songs, and episodes to the drama to form a strong classic flavor of poetry. In this case, these dramas created in the Anti-Japanese War,reach the realm of poetry and give people a beautiful enjoyment.Unfortunately, many current researchers just study his' s poems,or drama alone. They have not combined the two from the perspective of "transporting poems into dramas".Actually,it is the proper use of poetry that matters in his dramas, which are written in 1940 s.This thesis, based on the drama itself, analyzes how Guo Moruo used the theme of poetry in the course of historical drama in detail.Particularly,we research on the changes and specific characteristics in the selection of themes, the shaping of characters, and the expression of language and art. Moreover,we explore the interaction and origin relationship between poems and dramas in his historical dramas from these three dimensions. In Introduction, this thesis reviews the evolution of his works from poems, poetic dramas into historical dramas. And we explains the realistic factors, and clarifies the significance of the research according to the current status of domestic and foreign research, which is based on time and the era background of the 1940 s and 1940 s.The thesis include three chapters:Chapter 1: from the perspective of the theme of the drama,we analyzes the concrete embodiment of Guo Moruo's historical drama "Fusion of Poetry and Historical Drama".This chapter mainly discusses the three aspects of the structure of drama through lyric poetry, enhancing the dilute drama plot with narrative poems, and setting off the dramatic atmosphere with prose poems.Taking Guo Moruo's romantic poetics as a starting point,We explores the integration of Guo Moruo's historical drama and poetry from the perspectives of dramatic structure, dramatic plot, and dramatic conflict. The promotion of poetic sentiment makes the historical plot structure tense and complicated, deepening the conflict in drama.Chapter 2: the construction of poetic characters. From the original protagonist image of Qu Yuan,a secondary character with a poetic spirit, and an image of the ancient Ranger lofty character, three models of Guo Moruo's historical dramatist personality in the 1940s-Qu Yuan mode,Juan Juan mode, and Nie Zheng mode, which form the character system of Guo Moruo's ideal poetry country.Based on the poeticization of the three image construction modes,Guo Moruo's historical drama characters is different from others in the same period.Chapter 3: We first analyzes the unique language art of historical dramas and focuses on the detailed interpretation of the drama texts. Then we research on the use of volcanic lightning monologues, poetic character dialogues and traditional episode songs in the plays. Finally,we discuss his traditional poetry and opera art,and its Inheritance and development.
