A Study On The Phonology Of Fu'an Dialect

The study is on the phonetics of Fu'an dialect of eastern Fujian.From the synchronic perspective,based on the fieldwork,a phonology of Fu'an dialect,syllable structures,and types of literary and colloquial pronunciations are all described in detail.From a diachronic perspective,the paper compares Fu'an dialect with Guangyun(????),in this way the law of historical sound change of Fu'an dialect can be concluded.Meanwhile,by innovating research perspective,the use of functional load of phoneme theory and sociolinguistics help to analyse Fu'an dialect,to show the status of phonemes in the system in a quantitative form and obtain the social factors that influence the phonetic variation of Fu'an dialect.Aiming at the special initials[j],[w]and the phenomenon of rhyme alternations in Fu'an dialect,this paper,on the basis of predecessors,combined with the results of fieldwork,used new materials to study,obtained a new phoneme treatment method,and re-described the historical sound change process of rhymes.Through the above discussion,in addition to in-depth study on the phonetics of Fu'an dialect,it can also provide ideas and methods for other dialects to solve similar problems,and provide reference materials for dialect division and typological classification of languages.
