As one of the great German musicians in the romantic period,Johannes Brahms not only expresses the lyric and personality of romanticism,but also embodies the rigor and standard of classicism.Piano music is an important field of the Brahms music creation,will be the tradition of classical and romantic ethos of the perfect fusion,has formed its don't one tree style,his piano works for Europe and even the whole world has made a great contribution to the development of piano art."Ballade op.10 no.1" was created at the early stage of Brahms' s career,and its background is based on the old Scottish ballad "Edward".It uses music language to restore the tragic story of the hero "Edward" who killed his father and deceived his mother.This paper takes music dramatic features of ballade op.10 no.1 as the starting point to elaborate music dramatic creation features of this music,and at the same time to elaborate the performance of the whole music.The full text consists of three chapters: the first chapter is mainly about Brahms' s life,creation and the background of the music.The second chapter mainly analyzes the dramatic characteristics of music.The third chapter mainly explains the performance of this piece.This paper tries to make a detailed analysis of Brahms' ballade op.10 no.1,and try to provide some references and Suggestions for music scholars to study and play this work.
