| The Chinese and Soviet agricultural collectivization movement gave birth to a series of collectivization works, most of which were once regarded as the mainstream ideology, but few people read and study them now.To some extent, such works have great limitations of the times, but the new historical period takes a "one-size-fits-all" negative attitude towards literary works of the popular "collectivization movement",which will be unfair, even incorrect, and lose objective judgment on excellent writer’s works.Due to the similar political and literary backgrounds, the Chinese and Soviet agricultural collectivization works have many similarities in themes: politicization of literary functions, expansion of class struggle, collectivization of individual emotions. However, there are differences in the two countries’ literature in such aspects as reality disclosure or concealment, human nature publicity or suppression, spiritual exploration or blind obedience, religious belief or criticism, etc. These differences are related to the independence of the writer’s personality, the permission of secret writing, and the comprehensiveness of experience reference. In terms of aesthetics, the Chinese and Soviet agricultural collectivization theme novels have the aesthetic expression of unique natural scenery, the detailed description of rich folk culture, the precise description of farmer’s psychological personality, the semantic pun of narrative environment description, the flexible use and popularization of local slang. But there are also many differences: in terms of structure,Chinese works are mainly single-line structure, while Soviet works are mostly multi-line structure; In the aspect of rhetoric,Chinese writers often use plain description, while Soviet writers used a variety of rhetorical devices. In addition,Soviet writers gave an independent aesthetic value to the description of landscape, which had long been weakened by Chinese writers. The people’s communes have been disintegrated for many years, but denying the collectivization of agriculture itself does not negate the works describing the movement, which still have historical, artistic and times value.Through the differences between Chinese and Soviet agricultural collectivization novels,we can reflect on them and draw lessons from them. |
