Research On Space Form In Contemporary Figure Sculpture Creation

Most of the Western sculptures of ancient Greece,Rome and even the Renaissance were shaped by realistic techniques.With the advancement of science and technology and people's new pursuit of art form,the character sculpture also shows more formal language.Anthony Gormley's character sculpture is a process of exploring the relationship between characters and space,and is committed to making works a tool for shaping space and interpreting space.Based on the spatial representation of traditional character sculptures in contemporary historical coordinates,the case study is carried out from the perspectives of the theme,expression and display form of the statues of Gormley,and we will summarize the main aspects of the spatial form of the sculptures of Gormley,analyse the spatial relationship of the divergent formed by the viewer and the character sculpture so as to absorb the characteristics of contemporary sculpture,think about the development and possibility of the creation of contemporary character sculpture space,and then return to our own creation.In this sense,the creation of the spatial form of contemporary figures should be out of the shackles of the theme of traditional characters,so that the spatial form language can play a guiding role in the creation of character sculptures,and further reveal the openness and participation of character sculptures.
