On E-C Translation Of Science Fiction From The Perspective Of Reception Aesthetics Theory

Science fiction has seen a surge in China,thanks to advances in high-tech such as artificial intelligence and the popularity of the three-body problem.The translation of excellent science fiction can not only inspire the development of science fiction but also promote the development of science and technology to some extent.Many contemporary advances in science and technology are the first to appear in science fiction.Starting from the reception aesthetics theory,this thesis explores the strategies and characteristics of science fiction translation by taking All Systems Red as the translation text,in order to outline the guiding role of science fiction translation and reception aesthetics theory in the process of science fiction translation.As a literary genre,science fiction needs to retain certain literariness,and the uniqueness of science fiction requires that the translation should be more in line with the expectations and acceptability of the target readers.Therefore,the theory of reception aesthetics,which focuses on reader receptivity and aesthetics,can guide the translation of science fiction.Based on the perspective of the horizon of expectation and the appealing structure under the theory of reception aesthetics theory,this thesis conducts translation studies from the aspects of words,sentences,and texts.Target readers' setting,the presence of indeterminacy and blank is a focal point of science fiction translation,the translator uses series of strategies,such as addition,omission,conversion and so on to deal with the text as far as possible,so as to balance the literariness and the scientific nature.With the translation strategy under the guidance of reception aesthetics theory,the translated work can maximize the satisfaction of the target reader's expectation and accept it.This thesis provides a reference for the Chinese translation of science fiction.
