The Influence Of Test Type On The Effect Of Retrieval-DA On Implicit Memory

At present,there are few studies on the relationship between retrieve interference and implicit memory,and there are different conclusions.Most traditional views hold that retrieval interference does not affect implicit memory.However,recent reports have found that retrieval interference would destroy the implicit memory priming effect.It shows that implicit memory is not completely immune to retrieval interference.Comprehensive analysis shows that the differences between these studies may be due to the type of implicit test.The implicit memory test can be divided into perceptual implicit memory and conceptual implicit memory according to different processing types.According to the different test types,implicit memory can be divided into identification implicit test and production implicit test.In this study,the relationship between retrieval interference and implicit memory is systematically discussed through four experiments.Experiment 1 uses the classic vocabulary judgment task to verify that the retrieval interference destroys the priming effect of the perceived implicit memory.In experiment2,we also found that retrieval interference can destroy the priming effect of implicit memory in recognition concept by semantic classification task.In experiment 3 combines traditional vocabulary supplement vocabulary and vocabulary judgment to set the production vocabulary judgment task.The results showed that although the amount of priming effect of interfering condition is lower than non-interfering condition,but it still showed perceptual priming effect.Experiment 4 combines the traditional category paradigm and semantic classification task to set the production semantic classification task.It is also found that in the interference condition,the amount of priming is decreased,but there still exists obvious priming effect.According to the results of four experiments,it is found that the interference effect of implicit memory retrieval is universal.However,compared with the production implicit test,the priming effect in the recognition implicit test is easily affected by the retrieval interference.And the task of recognition implicit test never found that the interference effect of implicit memory retrieval can be adjusted by the consistency between encoding phase and retrieval phase.
