This paper mainly discusses the morpheme “Chen” and the words constructed by it from the semantics and rhetoric,which also explains the “Chen ~ / ~ Chen” in Complete Tang Poems.It is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly reviews the abundant achievements of “Chen” and the words constructed by it.It is found that few achievements have systematically combed the semantics of “Chen” and the words constructed by it.It is also less to discuss the semantics of “Chen” and the words constructed by it in a specific pragmatic environment from the perspective of rhetoric,which provides a starting point for the study of this paper.The second part is the first chapter,attempts to sort out the eight meanings of “Chen” in The Great Chinese Dictionary,which sums up eight meanings of it.It includes Chen1(dust),Chen2(pollute),Chent3(present world,common things),Chen4(trace,deeds),Chen5(war,chaos),Chen6(long-term),Chen7(used as a self-deprecating word),Chen8(measurement unit).It counts 483 words of “Chen” in The Great Chinese Dictionary.There are 311 disyllabic words,44 trisyllabic words,67 four-syllable words and 1 five-syllable word.Then classifies them according to monosyllabic words and polysemous words and analyzes the semantic characteristics of “Chen” and the words constructed by it.The third part is the second chapter,taking the poems of “Chen” in Complete Tang Poems as the corpus,classifying and listing the words constructed by “Chen” from it.On the basis of this mainly exploration,analyzes the “Chen ~ / ~ Chen” in Complete Tang Poems.It is found that the eight meanings of “Chen” are distributed as Chen1,Chen3,Chen4,Chen5 more than Chen2,Chen6,Chen7,Chen8 in Complete Tang Poems.And presents the characteristic of “Chen 1 > Chen 3 > Chen 5 > Chen 4 > Chen 2 > Chen7 > Chen 6 >Chen 8”.The fourth part is the third chapter,which focuses on the interpretation of the temporary rhetoric except the lexicon in Complete Tang Poems.In the process of analysis and interpretation,it is found that the meaning of “Chen ~ / ~ Chen” in Complete Tang Poems includes not only the explanation in the lexicon,but also the temporary semantics in the specific pragmatic environment,such as “farewell”,“wander”,“love”,“homesickness”,“boudoir complaint”,“war pain” and so on.The fifth part is the conclusion of this paper,which summarizes the main points and shortcomings of the paper.It is hoped that the attempt in this paper can provide a simple case for the study of Chinese sense-rhetoric,as well as the involvement of sense-rhetoric analysis in the study of literature.
