The Evolution Of Shen/Xian Rhyme Groups And Its Embodiment In Min Dialect Since The Medieval Times

Since the medieval times,the evolution of the final of Shen/Xian Rhyme Groups has been a significant historical evolution of the formation of the modern Chinese,which leaves profound influences on the vowel's structural adjustment of Chinese phonetics.However,due to its unbalance and gradual changes,the evolution between southern dialects and northern dialects is not uniform,featuring with complexity and diversity especially in the final of Min Dialect.Through summarizing the Rhyme Tables of the medieval times,the Rhyme Books of Ming and Qing Dynasties,and the local chronicles of Min dialect,the thesis,based on the rhyme words of Shen/Xian Rhyme Groups,analyses the foley of the final in the representative Rhyme Tables of Song,Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties.Besides,through comparing the pronunciation of the rhyme words in Shen/Xian rhyme groups among northern Min Dialect,estern Min Dialect and southern Min Dialect from the Ming-Qing period to the modern times,the thesis specifies the historical evolution and the different pronunciations of the the final in Min Dialect.In the end,the thesis presents further analyses on the reasons of the different pronunciations in the final of Shen/Xian Rhyme Groups in Min Dialect according to the immigrant history and the language contact theory.Based on the method of historical comparation,dialectic evidence and literature research,the thesis aims at making diachronic and synchronic comparative study on the evolution of the final of Shen/Xian Rhyme Groups in Min Dialect to pry into its evolution tract,from which the factors that influence the evolution of the final are pointed out.
