As the representative of Gan dialects, the Nanchang dialect's characteristics are unique. The evolvement of Yangsheng rhyme final (Yangsheng rhyme is closed syllables ending innasals, YRF) such as [-m, -n, -η] and Rusheng rhyme final (Rusheng rhyme is closed syllablesending in stops, RRF) such as [-p, -t, -k], especially the latter one, showes many peticuliarcharacteristics of South dialects. In Nanchang dialect, there are the final glottal stop -? in newgeneration of Nanchang dialect, -t,-k (RRF), and -n,-η(YRF) are remained. Based on theinvestigations on Nanchang dialect and materials of Gan dialects, this paper attempts todiscuss the sound change of YRF and RRF in Nanchang dialect. In the case of YRF, the final -m in xian, shan (å'¸,å±±) was disappeared because of theconditional phonetic evolvement of "initial-final dissimilation" and natural development ofphonetics. The phenomena of phonetic combination appeared in following groups: xian, shan(å'¸,å±±), shen, zeng(æ·±,曾) and zhen, geng, shen(zeng)(臻,梗,æ·±(曾)). The final-ηin mediaeval times now has transformd to final -n. In the zeng, geng(曾,梗) group, thedifferences between the literary and oral pronunciations presented themselves, e.g. in the caseof literary pronunciation of zeng, geng(曾,梗) group mainly based on the vowel offront-vowel and middle-vowel, the final -ηwas combined to shan, zhen(å±±,臻) group andtransformed to final -n, however, the final -n in dang, jiang, tong group(宕,江,通) wasremained as what it used to be in mediaeval times. In considerations of every group, the finalsof shan, zhen, dang, jiang, tong(å±±,臻,宕,江,通) developed stably and the main vowelphonetic value of final sound at present are similar to the phonetic value in mediaeval times, which suggested that the conservation of terminal vowel played an important role to thestabilization of the main vowel. In the case of RRF, the development of three RRF and YRF was in synchronous period. The progress was descript as follows: the final -p and -m disappeared almostly at the sametime, the final-k in groups of zeng, geng(曾,梗) based on the main vowel of front vowelpronounced by high tongue position transformd to -t and then to glottal stop rhyme final -?.The evolvement of RRF confirmed the phonetic theory of "Yangsheng-Rusheng Rhymesynchronization" which indicated that the time of the RRF combination situation andcombination were almost the same as the YRF. The correlations between the YRF and RRFwere consanguineous. What's more, the reasons and time of YRF -m disappeared at the firstand appearance of glottal stop -? are investigated based on the terms of historical stratum andgeography. The YRF and RRF were analyzed based on the theories and methods ofdialectology, descriptive linguistics and historical linguistics. The developments of YRF andRRF were illustrated by discussing the facilitating-restricting correlations between the YRFand RRF.
