The creation of "The Eighteen Scholars" began in the early Tang Dynasty.And popular in the Song Dynasty.After the Yuan and Ming dynasties,there were frequent special image modes that used the "The Eighteen Scholars" and "Piano-Chess-Calligraphy-Painting".Through the analysis of the handed down works and related literatures,it can be learned that such subject paintings have been widely popular in the Jiangnan area in the middle and late Ming Dynasty,except for the four sets of screen paintings on the decoration.The content of the performance also reflects the distinctive regional and contemporary characteristics.Although it is elegant,it has a tendency to be secularized in aesthetics.In view of this,this paper chooses to use the "Piano-Chess-Calligraphy-Painting" in the middle and late Ming Dynasty as the research center.On the basis of clarifying the origin of the image,this paper tries to deeply analyze the external expression and internal connection of the work,in order to better understand The expression and cause of this kind of theme painting creation.
