Margaret Atwood,known as the "Queen of Canadian literature",is one of the most important writers in the contemporary English literary world.Among the 17 novels she has published,her works can be divided into feminist novels,classic adaptation novels and science fiction.The main research object of this article is Atwood's science fiction novels,includes The handmaid's tale,The testament,The “Madda Adam trilogy” and The heart dead last.This article combines the analysis of these novel and relevant theories of science fiction and a non-fiction In the other world: science fiction and the human imagination which published in 2011 by Atwood.And analysis her science fiction form three point of view: the future speculation,the minion literature and modern revelation.On Atwood's science fiction,she firstly speculating the future and the disasters may happened in human society,these disasters reflect on the existing problems today,such as women's rights,technology abuse and social disorder.Secondly,as a female writer,Atwood's science fiction works focus on the disadvantaged groups in the disaster situation.Her work concerns about women,the people who laggard of The Time,and the people at bottom of the society.Describes their pursuit and struggle,shown their resistance of power and pursue of their own rights.Finally,science fiction can relate to myths and legends,Atwood's science fiction reveals the reality as a "modern myth",reveal and reconcile the contradictions of the post-modern society.The research of this paper Based on detailed text analysis and interdisciplinary perspective,interpret the text and explore the social value and humanistic connotation behind Atwood's science fiction.
