Research On "Baotou City Chronicle"(1943)

Baotou City Chronicle was completed in 1943 by Sun Bin.It recorded the history of Baotou from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China.It contained ten volumes,which has rich in contents.It mainly recorded Baotou’s historical geography,organizational system evolution,social economy,religious arts,customs and life,etc.It is an important material to study Baotou’s nature and society,history and humanities,and has high historical value.This article researches "Baotou City Chronicle" systematically from the aspects of book background,editors,sources of historical data,compilation principles,compilation style,content and value,compilation ideas,etc,which is in order to explore its philology and promote its history,the historical function of asset management and enlightenment.The article researches the "Baotou City Chronicle" by five parts,including the introduction and four chapters:The first chapter studies the completed book of Baotou City Chronicle.The background of the book is that Baotou has no chronicle,and the Japanese ordered the revision of the book;the process of writing the book is more difficult,and it has been revised again twice.The second chapter studies the authors,editions,styles,and historical sources of Baotou City Chronicle.The City Records is the official revision book,but was generally completed by Sun Bin;there are currently three versions;the book style is a two-level subhead.The third chapter studies the content of Baotou City Chronicle and analyzes its value.Baotou City Chronicle is an important document for the study of the historical geography,social economy,and customary life of Baotou.The fourth chapter conducts a holistic study of the compilation ideas of Sun Bin and his work,"Baotou City Chronicle".
