Liu Yin was an important Neo-Confucianism and poet in the Yuan Dynasty, and was also a "hermit" who was well-known to later generations.Since the literature of Yuan Dynasty entered the researchers' field of vision, there have been many achievements in the research on Liu Yin,including the research on his literature,Neo-Confucianism and hermit feelings.Liu Yin left behind a large number of literary works, which not only reflected the literary value, but also expressed many of his viewpoints on life, history and politics, moreover, they also showed obvious changes in mentality in the early and late stages of his literary creation. The ideological and psychological characteristics of these literati are the important foundation for our literary research, but at present the academic circle still lacks enough attention to this aspect. At the same time, there has been stereotyped image on Liu Yin as a "hermit" in the academic circle,so it is error-prone when interpreting his works.Based on these problems, this article will start with his poems and articles, and combine with a large number of historical documents,to make a detailed investigation on Liu Yin's political attitude, provenance of thought, seclusion mentality, creation and communication. Therefore,it is concluded that although Liu Yin lived a reclusive life for most of his life,he never gave up his ideal of "benefit mankind".This article is mainly divided into six parts. The first chapter investigates Liu Yin's life experience and the controversy of later generations on him.First of all,the article will briefly introduce his life and education background, and then investigate his experiences of official career and resignation. The later generations' controversy on Liu Yin's enshrined in Confucius Temple will be mainly interpreted. From which,it can be seen that Liu Yin's choice for a reclusive life had affected his evaluation in later generations, and later generations had controversy on Liu Yin's political stand. The second chapter investigates the different life choices and special mentality of literati during the time between Jin and Yuan Dynasties.Under the circumstances of that time, select representative figures from those who went out to serve in the new dynasty and those who chose to be in seclusion respectively, and analyze their efforts to inherit Chinese culture and construct Confucianism system under the Yuan Dynasty in order to find out the similarities of their thoughts and the particularity of their mentality. The third chapter analyzes Liu Yin's political attitude towards Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties.Through a large number of poets' works analyze his special feelings towards family and country, including his nostalgia for the Jin Dynasty, his criticism for the Song Dynasty and support for the Yuan Dynasty regime. While clarifying Liu Yin's political stand,it further proves that Liu Yin's seclusion was not originated from his feelings towards Jin and Song Dynasties, nor did he have any rebellious attitude towards the unification of Yuan Dynasty. The fourth chapter focuses on exploring the poet's thought of do good to society and his feelings of seclusion.First of all, based on the thought of do good to society shown in his Neo-Confucianism,analyze the poet's ideal of working for the prosperity of the country and his pursuit of life at a deeper level.Secondly, explore the change process of the poet's thoughts and analyze the reasons for his seclusion from two perspectives: the external political environment and the way of individual preservation. This proves that Liu's refusal to be an official did not mean that his pursuit of "do good to society" had faded. His choice was to find a more suitable way of life based on a good balance between personal ideal and social responsibility in the chaotic living environment in the early Yuan Dynasty. The fifth chapter studies the poet's poetry creation under the influence of reclusive feelings, and divides the poetry into two stages. The early stage of the poetry was characterized by a kind of ambivalence that could not forget world affairs while indulging in the infinite reverie of seclusion. However,in his later creation,he showed an open-minded and cheerfuldisposition to enjoy seclusion, full of bold and generous spirit. There was not much in the number of Ci created, but the theme of his creation showed more of the unrestrained spirit of "drunk life",with the lingering charm of Su Dongpo and Xin Qiji. The sixth chapter investigates the poet's companionship and creations.First of all,on the classification of official and non-official,investigate the friends and students of the poet who are closely related to each other in his life.Secondly, appreciate the poems exchanged between friends,in order to restore a more vivid and original image of Liu Yin.In brief, the poet was full of the ideal of benefit mankind since childhood. His seclusion was not only his behavior after his ideal of "benefit mankind" was disillusioned, but also another form of realizing his thought of "do good to society".Behind his carefree seclusion is his care for family and country, which he will never forget in his life.
