A Study On The Comparation Of “Erpai” And Xingshiyan

In the middle of the Ming Dynasty,with the growth of the citizen class,popular literature broke the domination of poetry and essay,and achieved unprecedented development.The fictional novel is one of them.With its all-round theme,clear language and vivid depiction,it showed the life,thoughts and feelings of the masses in the city,and spread it through oral or book-engraving methods,which pushed the Ming Dynasty citizen literature to a peak.The "ErPai" created by Ling Mengchu,The "XingShiYan" compiled by the brothers and Lu Renlong can be regarded as the peak works of the fictional novel.It prevailed at the end of the Ming Dynasty and is a well-deserved masterpiece today.Its thoughts and contents were very readable,and they were very secular at the time.Many profound aspects of society have been reflected in them,so rather great research value have been embraced in them,which has aroused the research interest of many scholars.Compared with Feng Menglong's earlier "SanYan","ErPai" and "Xing ShiYan" have more commom ground,which were same written by the authors based on the writer's notes,and the work's ideology is more unified,so there are more Strong comparability between them.However,in the current comparative researches,the comparison between "ErPai" and "SanYan" still accounts for the vast majority,and the comparison between "ErPai" and "Xing Shiyan" is still in small quantities.Therefore,this article takes "erpai" annotated by People's Literature Publishing House,annotated by Chen Daidong and Guo Jijie,and "Xing Shiyan" published by Jiangsu Ancient Books Publishing House as research objects,Taking "ErPai" and "XingShiYan" as side-by-side subjects,the overall comparison is divided into four chapters,and the creative mentality,character image,language art,and narrative operation of the two books will be discussed in this thesis.Thethesis is described from the following five aspects:First,do a literature review of the research history and current status of "ErPai" and "Xing Shiyan".This chapter explains the value and significance of the comparative study of "ErPai" and "Xing Shiyan",and explains the thesis.The research scope lays the foundation for the further development of the thesis.Second,compare the writing concepts of Ling Mengchu and Lu Renlong as a whole,and analyze the creative mentality of Ling Mengchu and the Brothers of Lu renlong from three perspectives: the creative motives,aesthetic appeal and ideological origin of the "ErPai" and "Xing Shiyan";Due to the similarities and differences in their origins,personal experiences,and social status,so are their creative ideas : they both attach importance to the enlightenment of literature,emphasize the importance of literature on people and guiding role of social life,besides Ling Mengchu also attached great importance to the entertainment of literary works,and aimed at educational and entertaining,which can make readers feel common life surprise;while brothers of Lu Renlong paid more attention to the educational effect of literary works.,the fictional novel is regarded as a tool for enlightenment by them.Third,comparing the two most representative images of literati,businessmen,officials,and women in "ErPai" and "Xing Shi Yan",and comparing them,it can be found that the characters in "erpai",whether they are Scholars,businessmen,officials,or women,they all have the ideological consciousness of the civic class,which conforms to the behavioral habits of the civic class,which more truly reflects the civic consciousness that emerged from the development of the commodity economy in the late Ming Dynasty;Although the characters in "Xing Shi Yan" are also the images lived in the end of the Ming Dynasty,it does not show the new atmosphere brought about by the sprout of capitalism,but it shows the fanatical pursuit of the old ethics.Fourth,comparing the linguistic art of "ErPai" and "XingShiYan" from three perspectives: narrative language,character language and criticallanguage,we can find that "ErPai" has a popular character in terms of narrative language.And "Xing Shiyan" strengthened the literati character;the character language of "erpai" emphasized the spoken language,while the character language of "Xing Shiyan" was more personalized;the commentary language of "Second Shooting" Language covers a wide range,while the critical language in Xingyanyan focuses on ethic precepts.Fifth,compare the narrative operation of "erpai" and "Xing Shiyan".In terms of narrative operation,"Erpai" has established a typical form of fictional novel in text system,narrative style and angle and technique.Lu Renlong did not follow the typical narrative paradigm of fictional novels.He came out creatively,in various aspects,he adjusted according to his own creative needs,which had a great impact on the creation of fictional novels in the future.For understanding things more clearly,comparison is an objective and effective method.Through such a comparative study,not only the aspects of the "ErPai" and "Xing Shi Yan" be clearly highlighted,at the same time,it is easier to distinguish the similarities and differences between the two books,and thus it is more clear that how the creative concept and the storytelling system play the role in the storybook novel in the process from prosperity to decline,as well as the impact and significance of the two books,Erpai and Xingshiyan.
