The archaeological culture of the Yangshao period with painted pottery as the main form of expression in the central and southern part of Inner Mongolia has experienced more than two thousand years.The significant differences in geographical environment,cultural pedigree,and crowd communication and many other factors interacted to make the local archaeological culture of this period form a significant cultural feature.Based on these characteristics,this paper divides the central and southern part of Inner Mongolia into two districts,and uses stratigraphy,typology,cultural factor analysis and other methods to study the development of colored pottery culture in this period.This article is divided into six chapters to discuss:The first chapter defines the time and space scope of the research object,summarizes the current status of the subject research,and proposes different innovations and research purposes from this article,and clarifies the research ideas and methods.The second chapter is divided into two areas to sort out the colored pottery excavated and collected so far in central and southern Inner Mongolia so as to provide complete information for later typological research.The third chapter uses stratigraphic and typological methods to analyze the changes of patterns on different colored pottery.Clarify the change trend of colored pottery in various periods in central and southern Inner Mongolia.Chapter 4 uses the established spatio-temporal framework of central and southern Inner Mongolia,combined with the change characteristics of the analysis of colored pottery typology,to divide the colored pottery culture of the Yangshao period in central and southern Inner Mongolia into early,middle and early stages,middle and late stages,and late stages,which are divided into three stages and four stages.This clarifies the similarities and differences of the colored pottery culture of the two districts in different periods,and the changing trend of the colored pottery in each district.The fifth chapter clarifies the origin and flow of colored pottery cultural factors in central and southern Inner Mongolia by comparing with the surrounding cultures of the same period.It was found that the early and middle periods absorbed the Central Plains culture,and the later period was based on this to innovate,form unique regional characteristics,and spread local cultural factors to the outside.Chapter 6 is the conclusion of this article.The whole article research established the cultural pedigree of colored pottery archaeology during the Yangshao period in south central Inner Mongolia.During this period,the local archaeological culture formed a pluralistic and integrated cultural pattern during the development process,reflecting the complexity and diversity of the development of archaeological culture.
