A Comparative Study On The Ritual Sounds Of Han And Tibetan Buddhism In Inner Mongolia

Ritual is an important way for human being to carry culture and the ritual sound is a significant part if it.Ritual sound has different music style because of the influence of nationality,region,cultural background and folk music.Chinese Buddhist music and Tibetan Buddhist music have their own history background,therefore,there are two different schools of Buddhist music.Although they have somewhere in common,there are still some differences.People can know better about the differences between the Chinese Buddhist music and the Tibetan Buddhist music through studying.This paper takes the ritual sounds of Guanyin Temple Chinese Buddhist music and Dazhao Tibetan Buddhist music as the object,and comprehensively elucidates and analyzes the historical origin and development of these two temples.I compare the differences among the ritual sounds of these two temples from the perspective of ritual music style,rhythm features and melodic lines.I explore the cultural attributes and social functions of the ritual sounds so as to compare and analyze the ritual sounds.It is helpful to know about the cultural and musical differences of the two temples through read and analyze literature,field,music form and so on to find the process of the inheritance and development of Chinese Buddhist rituals in Guanyin Temple and Tibetan Buddhist rituals in Dazhao temple in Hohhot,which can help people who like Buddhist music to know more about Chinese Buddhist rituals and Tibetan Buddhist music.Hopefully,it can provide practical exploration for the development and spread of the Buddhist culture.This essay can be divided into introduction,the history of Chinese Buddhist in Guanyin temple and and Tibetan Buddhist in Dazhao temple,comparison of Buddhist rituals sounds type from the two temples of Guanyin temple and Dazhao temple,the field demonstration of the ritual and ritual sounds of Guanyin temple and Dazhao temple,the analysis comparison of arts of sounds records of Guanyin temple and Dazhao temple as well as cultural attribute and social functions,the problem and protection methods of the inheritance of Guanyin temple ritual sounds and Dazhao temple ritual sounds,conclusion and other seven parts.The introduction clarify the whole essay from the problems of research significance,research object,research purpose,research situation,research methods and innovation so as to explain the whole essay from macro level.The first part of essay combs cultural background of Buddhism and Buddhist Music and the origin and development of Chinese Buddhist in Guanyin temple and and Tibetan Buddhist in Dazhao temple through the methods of documentary analysis so as to lead to the part two of ritual sounds type and its existed values of Guanyin temple and Dazhao temple and lay the theoretical foundation for the next study.The part three applies the method of field investigation to clarify the personal case for the most grand Dharma assembly ceremony of Guanyin temple and Dazhao temple and sort out the ritual process records from the Dharma assembly ceremony,and provide the necessary condition for the next ritual sound analysis.applying the method of “description--explanation” to analysis and induction of arts itself.The part four is the explanation of cultural attribute and social function to the ritual sounds of Guanyin temple and Dazhao temple.The fifth part is the analysis and expatiation about the the problem and protection method of theinheritance of Guanyin temple ritual sounds and Dazhao temple ritual sounds.The conclusion summarizes the research results and conclusion of this essay,the problem of the ritual sounds and the expectation of the research.
